Erika lived and worked in France, England and Germany before permanently settling in Sydney. She studied art in Europe and in NSW at the National Art School and over the last 30 years has been exhibiting her work in many solo and group exhibition. During this time she continued to develop her art through workshops and numerous painting tours conducted by prominent artist such as Milgate, Woodward, Pugh, Zusters, Orban and
others.
The work is expressive, contemporary and full of vibrant colour. Her landscapes reflect her fascination with the light, the silence and the timelessness of Australia. Her figure paintings and still lifes explore the relationships of the human form to objects, interiors, places and life.
Erika has been tutoring artist’s workshops at the Ku-ring-gai Art Centre since 1986 and participates in local art competitions and selected exhibitions. Erika has won numerous prizes and art awards. Her work is represented in private art collection in Australia and overseas Erika has selected the following motto for her work:
“The promise of spring – seriously decorative. It is about the celebration of the beauty of the world, and of hope for the future.....”
