Lisa was born in Durban, South Africa, where she did a national diploma in Design. She also lived in Cape Town and Johannesburg. This enabled her to be immersed in the South African culture and absorb the richness of the landscapes.
Her cosmopolitan vision was enriched by a time in London where she worked in Design, and, more recently while living in Malaysia. Here she was exposed to the Asian use of colour and design.
Lisa immigrated to Australia in 2002. Here she has been profoundly influenced by the rich variety of textures, shapes and colours that make up the kaleidoscope of nature, from the white beaches to the breathtaking Australian bush and the overwhelming grandeur of its mountains.
The rich variety of the influences to which she has been exposed to throughout her life are reflected in the imaginative interpretation of nature in her work. |
