Julie is an accomplished Ceramic Artist from Sydney. Her work is multi-award winning and has been sort after by many people from both Australia and overseas, reflecting the wide appeal of her designs. Julie’s background is in Graphic Design & Photography, having studied at the University of Western Sydney.
Julie was awarded “Standard of Excellence” & Firs Prize in the 2007 Sydney Royal Arts Show and “Best Professional 2006” from the Ceramic Art Association of N.S.W. In 2007 Julie has hadtwo solo exhibitions featuring her ceramic art & paintings, and has shown at numerous exhibitions.
Her style is bold & engaging with a strong focus on balance, geometry and vibrant colour. This is
revealed in the range of signature ceramic pieces she has created under the name of Britt and Tyler. The name Britt and Tyler comes from her two young children’s middle names, who are a both a constant source of positive feedback and inspiration.
With her ceramic pieces Julie hand casts with earthenware clay using carving, painting and glazes
to create a distinctive and individual style. Each of the unique ceramic designs she creates, are both practical and aesthetically pleasing. More recently Julie has embarked on painting in oils & acrylics on canvas and finds this an excellent form of expression & a creative outlet where again she can use an abundance of colour.
Julie is constantly exploring and evolving the design, colour and form of her art across various mediums,
creating a style that is unique and vibrant in both her ceramic works and paintings.
