Born in St. Paul’s Bay on the Island of Malta in 1952, Joseph Vella arrived in Australia at the age of 4.

Joseph showed promise in art at an early age, and produced some outstanding work in both primary and secondary school. After completing secondary school Joseph turned a hand to farming, but soon re-discovered his passion for art.

Joseph has been in many exhibitions, winning numerous awards and has been selected to exhibit in the Blake Art Prize “For religious art”, and was also included in the Touring Blake Exhibition.

Josephs love for the human form and the sea are depicted in many of his paintings, some leading you to abstraction.

His painting and sculptural work are featured in many corporate collections including Blactown City Council and Coleman and Greig Solicitors. Many of his works are also included in private collections both Nationally and Internationally.
